kinda wish we got one episode were all 3 basically trade digimon partners for 1 episode because they got separated in say a maze or a dungeon

I love the kind of lesson Gammamon learning his mistake and owning up to it. That made good growth that my over shadow is darkness.

Digimon knows very well how to hit on nostalgia, kalamaramon is a good reference from digimon frontier...

I think this episode was kinda like a love letter to Junji Ito, and I appreciate that because Ito's works are true horror classics, literally the Lovecraft of Japan.

I also was not expecting that Calamaramon was the culprit this week, I still remember the one from Frontier as she's still among my favorite villains in Digimon history, so all and all... decent episode, and Gammamon learned a valuable lesson as well.

Also, I'm starting to like the signals I'm seeing... Hiro wondering how a Human can travel to the Digiworld and viceversa, Jellymon being able to attack by connecting to Hiro (something that was forgotten for a long time after that one episode at the power plant) and Espimon becoming a recurrent character...

I'm I finally sensing a glimpse of actual plot? Because there's so much here to make an amazing main plot, so let's hope Ghost Game keeps this momentum.

Somehow having the stuff and people twist like that was more freaky and scarier than say Arukenimon eating brains. especially when they alarmingly said "it doesn't hurt", but the effect it had in other stuff just meant it won't hurt, but its a race against time

So Either Calamaramon has the "twist" stuff as part of her own power set, or, being the legendary warrior of water, means she has conceptual and semantic control over water (example, making stuff twist like a water current, as seen in this episode). If so, that would mean ALL the other legendary warriors are OP as Fudge. And makes me wonder how they could all apply their powers conceptually too.

At this point, considering Jellymon was able to bond with all 3 of the tamers, i kinda wish we got an episode where the others do it too because they got separated or like thisepisode, their human partners were busy somewhere else

So Espimon finally connected the dots and realized Hiro is Hiro or still thinks Hiro is a clone of his dad but is just staying with "the fake hiro" because he feels lonely?

it might have taken nearly the entire show, but WE MIGHT HAVE FINALLY GOT PLOT PEOPLE!

Apparently Espimon didn't think Hiro was Hiro because Hokuto's description was not entirely clear and he took it too literally.

I'm not sure if it means anything but Calamaramon became all twisty after coming out of the Digital Gate as if implying her head got scrambled when crossing worlds even though Jellymon and Angoramon didn't have any of these effects and that extends to the other Digimon as well so I was thinking size and mass has something to do with that.

Good observation, it shows that Digimons arriving to the human world might not all be bad perse, but the human world corrupts them or they get corrupted by crossing the boundary that divides both worlds... hence why Hiro wondered that humans cannot survive the trip between worlds.

I feel like the latter seems to be more of the case when it came to the larger Digimon since most of the humanoid and smaller Digimon tend to cross through unscaved. If I remember correctly, Hokuto didn't exactly cross a gate into the Digital World but was instantly teleported in a flash of light.

It's kinda funny that all interesting takes on lore tidbits get shot down in the most boring way, this time with the "real Amanokawa Hiro" thing. Clone, "Is he even human", etc.... nope, Espimon just dumb.
Would'nt surprise me if the black digimon endup being just a bunch of curious digimon and nothing else.

Kinda weird they used a person to dub the dog instead of dog noises, but the cat seemed just cat noises.

I know that I have been complaining about this show non-stop for the past 3 episodes but goddamn, I feel so unsatisfied by the recent quality to be honest.

This episode was ok at the best. It's just that it feels so, so, so damn weird that we are in episode 40 and Gammamon is learning how to say sorry? Really? The conflict today was that Gammamon broke the board and didn't want to say sorry? I'm sorry but that is just ridiculous and very tone-deaf this late into the show. When I read the episode's summary, I thought that Gammamon didn't want to apologize because Hiro said something very unsensitive about him (like mentioning anything about Gulus, as an example) THAT would have been a fitting conflict by episode 40, not an episode about Gammamon crying about a stupid tablet and hugging it out for what? The third time? They already made enough episodes about Hiro and Gammamon's bond, we really didn't need this and it's frustrating that Gammamon is still not developed well and keeps acting like a toddler. That's just plain strange. Also, pretty annoying that Hiro didn't react at all when he used Jellymon's move.

And I'm gonna eat my words if Espimon doesn't evolve into HoverEspimon and take the gang on a ride to the digital world through the portal which is their way to not get burned up, that seems to be clearly the plan here.

Anyway, the next episode seems very exciting because the villain is an ultimate and very dangerous as well, Gulus better appear because the plot progression is slow as hell.

Sometimes it looks like they throw darts or roll some dice to decide what goes into an episode, aside from the "horror of the week", seeing how random some things pop up that should've been discussed WAY back as relevant plot points

That sums up my feelings about the continuity. It feels so loose. As an example, Bokomon's flashback was from episode 9, how did Hiro not remember it until now? And why did he stop doing any active research on how to go to the Digital World since then? That should have been brought up way back in episode 20 when the gates appear right in front of them and it was the plot of the episode, not now when a random Digimon randomly mentioned them being "swirly"

I won't be surprised if that is literally what they are doing, throwing darts or rolling dice to decide what random thing they should bring back next from their super long list of unresolved storylines. Augh, this show had so much potential, I'm so disappointed.

I'm counting on Piedmon and Lucemon to save this series and kick plot in already.

Well maybe you should stop expecting big plot points to happen every episode and see what every episode brings. You're disappointing yourself more than anything.

Hiro hasn't been doing much research on going into the digital world because he has school and has no idea where to start? Gammamon whether you like it or not is still a kid and has he apologized for any of the times he bit something? What is bugging me is how they seem to never have any real free time?

If the supposed mega IS what we are suspecting to be Piedmon even Gulus would not be able to handle him as this is a strong champion going up against a not so average mega.

My usual posts are breaking down every episode and my thoughts on it. At least I'm not complaining about wasted potential and calling it a disappointment.

They did the temporary owner switch with Jellymon again, I wish they expand this concept more =/

Not asking much, just have one episode with an excuse plot (a digimon that teleports people), separates the cast in different pairings causing them to switch partners for the episode

Today's episode is Gammamon being extra cute. Like a lot. And, maybe an reference to uzumaki by Junji Ito?

Nothing special but a good ep for the maturing of Gammamon, our adorable baby dino is growing up.

All the armours next week it seems, this series is really giving them some love.

Mainly armor Digimon that can work well in a circus show setting. What is getting me curious is the supposed ring master being Piedmon.

gammamon going through his rebellious phase, and man Hiro is not good at handling emotional confrontation is he? He's really smart though...say what would you say is the type of smart all 3 of the digidestiened are? Kyoshiro is obviously academically smart, not sure about the other 2.

Well we got some callbacks to previous episodes, our team CAN link with each other's Digimon but aren't able to conduct evolution unless certain conditions are met for that to be possible. Not many chances for instances like these to occur unfortunately. Calamaramon was being all twisty because the gate she came from into the human world with twisted her marbles. Guessing this is a case of a size issue where a Digimon as small as Jellymon doesn't experience any lingering aftereffects but Digimon as large as Calamaramon would experience them? Most Digimon who came out of the gates so far were relatively sane but that was because none of them were as large as Calamaramon. Hiro starts to wonder how his dad got into the Digital World without burning up thinking back to what Bokomon said about the negative effects Digital World Gates have on humans normally. Hokuto didn't exactly cross a gate but was teleported in there in a flash. Maybe there is something to do with the Vital Bracelets?

Aside from that, so it was Hokuto who referred Espimon to Hiro but the former's description of Hiro was pretty bad as apparently Espimon took the description too literally although he then shows up in Hiro's dorm later that night and chowing on rice crackers so I guess he figured it out? That and Gammamon learns to apologize after he broke Hiro's board and he lost his homework data. First of all, good for Gammamon getting out of his rebellious phase apparently and second yikes to Hiro's homework. The few times Gammamon bit something he isn't supposed to like Hiro's old cellphone I guess wasn't too big of an issue but I sometimes think Hiro is too nice for his own good and sort of hinders Gammamon's mental growth. But then too quickly is just as bad. BTW, it's the summer for them and they are still in school? Forget story progression what happened to summer vacation because I mean Hiro and Ruli have a house and such to go to when done for school for the day what is going on? I rewatched the episode, apparently Ruli has summer courses. Ok good for her and Kyoshiro I guess is also pretty busy with his work life. Strange how Hiro is the only one who has in a sense a bit more free time than the others.

One more thing, why did I feel uneasy when I saw Rin and Kantaro. This is a different series yet why do I feel uneasy because Rin and Kantaro look so similar to another girl and dog?

Gammamon, you sweet baby boy. I'm glad he learned his lesson about owning up to his wrongdoings and I love that Hiro wasn't even that angry with him. He just wanted Gammamon to apologize.
